mqTranslate and Relevanssi

  • I am using Relevanssi directly as a part of an AJAX search frontend, with mqTranslate enabled. When I invoke relevanssi_do_query directly, it always returns posts that does not actually meet the criteria of the query (e.g posts without the specified keywords show up). I’ve tried fiddling with the AND/OR options with no avail; it either stops showing results at all or continue showing irrelevant videos.

    If it matters, I’m searching with Chinese terms.

    Relevanssi doesn’t work quite well with Chinese, because while Relevanssi can read and match Chinese characters, Chinese text doesn’t have word breaks like European languages have. Thus the matching algorithm used by Relevanssi doesn’t make any sense with Chinese.
