    Actually I think that the person marked as the “post author” is what I need – the person who made the change. Not actually the author necessarily of the whole article. Please confirm.

    I am not sure if I got that right, but I think all the [current_user_*] placeholders would be right here. Because you want to notify the user who is actually logged in and changing something on a post. That user does not have to be the author of the post he/she is updating.
