• Hello,

    I have searched high and low for guidance on this, but I haven’t been able to find anything.

    How would I go about adding custom user profile fields added via my theme’s functions.php to the s2member front-end edit profile page? I am fully aware that one can create custom profile fields within s2member, but I have other plugins that need to be able to access the data entered in these fields, and so I need everything to be contained within WordPress’s native user system in the db.
    Can anyone offer any guidance on this? TIA ??

  • Not by theme’s functions, but by a s2M itself: read “s2M -> General options -> Member Profile Modifications”.

    I have read that page, several times. I tried it out, and it does not include the custom fields that I had already configured via a custom plugin. Notice the text on that page: This Shortcode produces an Inline Profile Editing Form that supports all aspects of s2Member, including Password changes; and any Custom Registration/Profile Fields that you’ve configured with s2Member.

    So it is not possible to include custom profile fields created OUTSIDE of S2Member on the profile edit page?

    @shwartsdesign,

    krumch’s point is that s2member stores all user data in WP’s “native user system,” so you should indeed use s2’s custom fields.

    In fact, this is one of s2’s major advantages over other membership plugins.
