Add custom post type to Feedburner feed

    I am using the Genesis Agentpress child theme, which offers a Listings feature for posting homes, etc. for real estate. So, I want to create a feed that consists just of these Listings.

    URL is: https://www.hersparkle.com/listings/
    Feed is: https://www.hersparkle.com/listings/feed/

    But when I went to burn the feed at Feedburner, I got an error message and when I ran the feed through the feed validator, I got an error message that said “It looks like this is a web page, not a feed.”

    Do I need to set up a custom post type for these listings? Any suggestions appreciated, thanks.

  • Your website seems to be offline. You need to fix that first.
    If your feed address is blub.com/bublublub/lublub/feed/ it is just fine and remember feeds does not need to be end with .xml. They just need to present the posts as an XML data stream, which WordPress’ feeds do.

    Thank you!!! I did not even think that I had the coming soon splash page on, I turned it off and was able to add the feed no problem. What a dumb mistake. Thanks so much for pointing it out!
