Using Crayon from .php file

How can I use Crayon from .php file so it will format the code I pass to it?
I’m try to do the following (in my function.php):
echo '<pre class="nums:false lang:reg decode:true">curl -X POST -H "X-Database-Id: 236276243hlbf36"</pre>';
But there is no any formatting appears on the page. What should I try?
