    Hi Fuchs913

    Thank you for using Rublon!

We have introduced a new feature that allows you to log out remotely by removing a trusted device. This feature requires a persistent connection with our servers through a so-called listener object. Are you maybe using Firefox? This web browser shows a “loading” state while such a connection is active. This does not mean that anything is loading though. Does this really slow down your WordPress or halt anything?

    Hi Rublon,
Thank you for the response. Yes, I use Firefox for 99% of my web browsing. After the update, and when using the firefox browser, my page load times increased approx 30-40% on avg, sometimes worse, and as stated previously, sometimes it would just sit there and circle (load) the page, but the page would never populate. Just a constant state of “loading”. I tried multiple fixes including deleting cloudflare cache, etc… And tested site load times with Pingdom. I deleted the updated 2.1.4 version and reinstalled an earlier version from one of my website backup files, and the site loads fine again. Unless there was a security issue with the version previous to 2.1.4, I’ll just use that for now. Otherwise I was just going to delete the plugin altogether, because I don’t want to loose customers or google ranking with slow load times. It’s a great plugin and I’ve enjoyed it’s protection, would like to keep using it!

    Thanks Again,
    Fuchs913

    Hi Fuchs913

We have started an investigation on this matter. Our IT department is looking for a solution that would not show any loading state in all web browsers.

It may look like page load times have increased, but that is actually not the case. Firefox interprets our listener object as a object that is actively in a loading state, but nothing is being loaded during that time. Did Pingdom really show higher load times when the latest version of our plugin was active?

Please also note that the listener object is only active if you are logged into WordPress. A visitor to your website who is not logged in via the administration panel, will not have the listener object present, which means that no loading indicator will be shown to them. Google will also not be logged in to your website, so there is no possible impact of this loading indicator to your search rankings.

We will let you know once the problem is resolved on our side. It is only a visual defect though, which has no impact on your website performance.

    Hi Fuchs913

We have not introduced a new temporary option to the Rublon Settings. It allows you to turn off the Real-Time Remote Logout feature. This is available with the latest version of the plugin (2.1.8). Please update and let us know if turning this option off solves your problem.

    Hi Fuchs913

Since we have not heard back from you, we assume that the issue has been resolved with the latest version of the plugin and thus are closing the topic.
