Facebook Sharing Image lost when logged in

After you share the post the plugin stops having control of the shared contents which are now completely handled by Facebook, there’s nothing we can really do there.

I can understand that after the share, FB is handling the content, but what I have a hard time understanding is why the image disappears when I share when I’m logged in WordPress, and why it shows while I share when I’m logged out. This means I will have to log out of WP everytime I want to share my posts so that the featured image will show in FB?

I’ve noticed that a few users mentionned a similar problem – image disappearing from sharing posts. Maybe it’s the same situation – if you try sharing a post while your not logged in the WP account it works but it would not work for them – because they were logged in….

I’m not sure what could cause this – there should be no difference (from the plugin’s perspective) from when you’re sharing logged in/out because Facebook will fetch the page regardless.

I would need to test this myself, if you’re willing to provide us with a set of login credentials (create an extra account) and send them to use through the contact form on our site under About -> Contact Us.

Hi, I’m experiencing pretty much the same – which is – when I share a post I do not get to choose by browsing through “available” images from the post (seems to have disappeared when I last upgraded the plugin).

And also – if I log out, occasionally it picks a random image from my site (in my case a logo from the side bar) which has nothing to do with the post.

Found the solution: it was a “conflict” with Add-meta-tags plugin that set the og:image property incorrectly. Not easy to find – but then again nothing to do with your plugin.
