Lost all changes made since one week after WordPress automatic update!!!

  • Hi there,

    I got a message in my inbox yesterday that wordpress had updated my site to 4.0.1. and when i opened today, all the work i have done on it since roughly a week (about 60 hours of work) is gone!

    I am using Pagelines DMS and had saved all new designs on templates and all gone!

    The site is not launched yet so i have no proper back up – can you guide please?

    Really annoyed with that – i didn’t want to update anything until i launch a site that works properly and was very annoyed that WP updated without asking me!

    All images I had uploaded since 1st December also gone!

    What is that bad joke?

    I did the plugin check and doesn;t change anything

    The site is in the same state as it was on 1st December – all changes gone including images uploaded since 1st dec and even new user registration – all disappeared!

    Try contacting your host. They often keep daily backups and will restore if available. Also, even if your site isn’t in production, you can always download a daily copy of the relevant files: usually your theme folder and the sql database. Good luck!
