If you have looked at my new plugin the first thing that stands out is multiple views. Most export tools are very basic but I like to explore ideas that might make people realize – they have always needed more.
With this plugin I’m practicing the idea that some users/business may need the ability to export their WordPress data to multiple different .csv files. They may need to do this on a regular basis. Existing tools may require them to use one form for each file and each time they need to perform the export.
I honestly have no idea if anyone out there is going that – but it doesn’t matter. Sometimes no-one asks for something they need because they don’t realize how bad they need it.- Each view offers quick download of specific data.
- This approach allows users to use multiple views/profiles without having to re-configure the same form.
- My approach of creating profiles and leaving them as they are will increase accuracy of each .csv file. Important if the exported data is being used by other software.
- Custom profiles can be created by developers, you can hire WebTechGlobal if you are not a developer.
- The ability to configure your own export profile is being planned. A little show of support from the community for this plugin will encourage such updates to come quicker.
- Custom profiles will be done using a form that allows any number of database tables and even specific columns from each. Proper MySQL JOIN queries etc.
- Do you need an .XML exporter with the same approach? Just let me know.
