My main menu won't change on website – help please

    Hello.

    I can’t get my main menu to change on my website. I am new to this so it may be me, but I can change the ‘footer’ menu to change. I’ve created a new menu to try that instead but that doesn’t work either. I use the tick boxes to change the main menu to the one I want and press save and publish but nothing changes. If I change the ‘footer’ menu it works fine (I changed it to my main menu setup to make sure it wasn’t the menu and it changed ok).

    I have recently upgraded to 4.0.1 so would that be the problem?

    Any help and advice would be greatly appreciated as my website currently displays my legal information and privacy policy as the main tabs at the top! No a good impression ??

  • Hi cgreenman. Sounds a bit strange for sure. What do the menu options look like on the Manage Locations tab at the top of the menu screen? Does it work if you select a different menu there?

    Also, some themes have menu location settings at Admin page > Appearance > Customise, or at Admin page > Appearance > Theme Options. Usually these options allow you to allocate a menu to a location.

    However, it looks like you are using a custom theme to which www.remarpro.com forum members do not have access, so you may have to contact the freelancer who created the theme for support. Please see:

    Hi bdbrown, I’ve tried to select a different menu in the Manage Locations but it doesn’t change. It changes to my menu at the bottom of my web page where the privacy policy and legal information is but not on the top row where it is supposed to be. I’ve gone to the location and changed the menus several different ways, but it still won’t change. Thank you. ??

    Hi lorro, thanks for the suggestion. I’ve just tried those ways and it’s not made any difference. I’ve also emptied my history, cache etc and not made any difference.

    I think I will have to go back to my freelancer and I’ll certainly look at the link you kindly gave me. Thanks for your help. ??

    All sorted now. My web freelancer sorted it out somehow! Thanks guys.
