Thanks, I tried all the troubleshooting recs in the link you sent, and am still getting a 404. I did find however that a specific event is now showing up (maybe when I refreshed pretty permalinks it fixed that) but the main event page itself is still throwing a 404.

I installed the debug code in my functions.php, here is the link: https://watercraftjournal.com/events/?tribe_query_debug=true

Any help much appreciated, as we’re wanting to buy the premium version next but are needing to make sure this works with our site first.

    Thanks, J

Can someone please respond to this? We’ve been troubleshooting this for weeks. We really want to use this plugin but need to know if this can’t be resolved so we can move on to another plugin. Thanks!

I realize this forum is checked on Wednesdays, but two Wednesdays have now passed and no one has responded to me. If this plugin is that buggy and there are no other suggestions for me on what can be done to fix the 404 issue, can someone please let me know so we can move onto another plugin? Thanks – J

    Hello Jiller,

Thank you for reaching out. We no longer respond on just Wednesdays, sometimes it’s Friday, sometimes it is Thursday. We have not nailed down a day just yet that will be consistent going forward. I apologize for the confusion this has created here.

I just want to double check that you tried testing for conflicts. Sometimes this sort of error happens when another plugin is also trying to hijacks the /events/ page.

What happens if you change the URL of /events/ to /jillerstest/, by going to WP Admin > Events > Settings > General and changing the URL? If that fixes it, is it possible you have create a page on your site with a slug like “events”?

I am sad you are having difficulties. Hopefully we can help you towards a speedy resolution.

    Cheers!

Also try adding an event in the future. Maybe one for Dec 31st? I am noticing all of these pages work:
    https://watercraftjournal.com/events/list/?action=tribe_list&tribe_paged=1&tribe_event_display=past
    https://watercraftjournal.com/events/month/
    https://watercraftjournal.com/event/this-is-a-test/

But they all have content. Your upcoming page actually would not have content because there are apparently no upcoming events. It should not be displaying that particular template, though it should still be generating a silent HTTP 404 just like every other empty archive page in WordPress. But, the template will still look like our event list page and state “There are no upcoming events”, just like it does when you visit this page only without all the debugging info: https://watercraftjournal.com/events/?tribe_query_debug=true

Thanks, Brook – It’s weird because when I added that event before, it was in the future, and I was still getting the 404 on the /events pg

I tried adding another one and it then worked. So now I’ve deleted both events, and am getting that 404 error instead of the template you said I should be getting, do you know what would be causing that?

And yes, I troubleshooting to rule out the theme, plugins, etc.

Just want to make sure this doesn’t randomly happen again, as it seems to have randomly gone away. And also want to make sure that 404 won’t be showing if there are no events. Thanks – J

Thanks for testing all that. I wish I could guarantee that it will not happen again. Unfortunately it appears to be a one-of issue, one I’ve never seen before. I’ve seen similar stuff but not this. So I can not predict what will happen since the conflict test did not work out. What I will say is that is is highly unusual in that I’ve never seen it before, so it is quite possible it will not rear it’s head again.

I wish I had better answers. But that’s the frank truth of it. Cheers!
