Error retrieving WordPress core hashes

    Some people may see this error message after update the plugin to version 1.7.3. The error is visible only for websites using a non-English WordPress installation, the plugin uses the WPLANG constant to retrieve the checksums of the official files associated to a specific WordPress version, but it seems that WordPress only supports English-based installations, so the plugin will fail to retrieve the checksums, for example, if the site was configured in Spanish, French, or other language.

    I fixed this in the development version with changeset 1034545 that you can download from here [1].

  • Actually, my site is English and I still had this issue. However, I am happy to report that 1.7.4 fixes it.
