• Alright, Admin back end editing nav menus, admin-header.php sets body tag classes (verified by adding html comment printing same classes) but by the time source reaches my browser, body tags are gone. No JS (turned off) and I even verified with a proxy trace that the classes are gone.

What could modify the source before it gets to the browser?

Try deactivating all plugins. If that resolves the issue, reactivate each one individually until you find the cause.

If that does not resolve the issue, try switching to the Twenty Fourteen theme to rule-out a theme-specific issue (theme functions can interfere like plugins).

Grr, 2 plugins… Job Manager and Revolution Slider both cause body tag to lose classes.

Hopefully, you’ll be able to find something that will work for you.

BTW, there was a security vulnerability with older versions of Revolution Slider, so make sure you have that one updated to at least v4.2
