Hello, running 4.0.1 and if I visit the blog my images are missing. I edit the blog they are missing but “relinking takes me to the media library and they are there and linked. Upon relinking, visual editor shows them but they are not showing up on the external facing blog.

    I have done the following.

Permissions, they are all readable by all groups and admin has editing abilities.

Paths/links are all good though I can not view that path from a browser. “We cannot complete this request, remote data was invalid”

I have uploaded new files and the same happens to them. and I have made a new post to test on with the same results.

I can replace with a URL insert but inserting from my media library does not seem to work any longer.

I can’t find any discussions like this. It acts like a permissions issue but I can not see where the permissions are off.

    Any hints?

try resetting your permalinks to the default setting and saving that then seeing if that works.

    What would the default be?

    (@theotherlebowski)

under settings -> permalinks in your admin dashboard there’s a checkbox labelled default, just select that and save.

    (@danburbank)

well that did not seem to do anything as of yet.

clear your browser cache and refresh the page?

    Thread Starter danburbank

    (@danburbank)

Yes of course. ?? different browsers as well.

this is one of the more perplexing issues I have had.

hmm… try going back to the default theme 2014 (assuming you’re not using it).

can you list the plugins you’ve got on your site too?

    (@danburbank)

I will get to that eventually.

Something I failed to note, the captions of the images come up perfectly fine, it is just the image that will not post.

hmm… can you give me a link to your site?

oh, and the banner is nested in the same folder as most of the images and it displays clearly as you can see.

The permissions are that are the same as the other images.

well, the good news is i think i know why your images aren’t showing but the bad news i i need to research a bit more to figure out how to sort it out!

the img tags aren’t closed properly, they’re missing the / at the end. i’ll do some digging and some olympic googling and post back if i find a solution!

    (@danburbank)

that is odd. let me look at the new images I just uploaded and inserted into my test page.

I do not see what you are referring to.
