• Hi everyone , I’m in a total mess and a real newbie, I’ve the situation of having installed woo commerce, amazon affiliates and the kingdom theme.
I need to get them off and go back to a child them, I’ve searched everywhere but their seems no easy way to do it,as the child theme needs a parent, without knowledge of the codes and particularly where to find them.
I’m getting very confused after two days of trying ??
I’ve tried the reset wordpress plugin to little or no effect.

I’m working on a mac , with the aim of building a shop that will be attached to my blog.

    Thanks
    Phill

  • You have to manually create a child theme, and a child theme must have a parent theme. So in your case if you are happy with your kingdom theme, but you would like to make some modifications to it, then you need to create a child theme and place your modifications there, so when you update your kingdom (parent) theme in the future, the modification are not overwritten and lost. In your wordpress dashboard under themes you would then have two themes. Your kingdom theme and the active kingdom child theme.

To delete the two plugins, use WordPress Dashborard —> Plugins –> Installed plugins —> Deactivate Woocommerce/amazon affiliates —> Delete
