• I am a neophite to WordPress (WP) and particularly to WP database functionality.
I moved the website https://www.lansingcentralumc.org to GoDaddy, using their Managed WordPress hosting. The Contact Form within the existing web page https://www./lansingcentralumc.org/contact-us/ seems to no longer record new contacts in the WordPress database. I press the SUBMIT button and the entry clears from the page without an error message I can see. The new contacts do not appear in the WP dashboard in the count of the Contact Us entries. Old contact entries created on the prior web hosting site can be viewed through the WP dashboard.
The Conact form was created using Gravity Forms. The Gravity Forms plugin is the current version – Version 1.8.19. The WordPress version is 4.0. The theme is 1397 from template_help.com and compatible with WP version 3.2.x.
GoDaddy support says their server settings are fine – that it must be a problem with the Gravity Forms software or settings.
I contacted Gravity Forms support. They created a new test web page using the Contact Form, Version 1.8.19. New contact entrires created through this test page process properly and appear in the WP dashboard.
Gravity Forms support found several problems :
?Your theme is replacing default WordPress JQuery with an older one if you use the View Source option of the browser in your Contact page you will see that the theme loads this: https://lansingcentralumc.org/wp-content/themes/theme1397/js/jquery-1.6.4.min.js?ver=1.6.4 (although this is not the cause of Contact entry issue).
?That jquery version 1.6.4 is causing many JS errors in your page.
?And the most important error, that seems to be the cause of your issue, is that although the test Contact Us page apparently works fine, it gives a 404 error.
Gravity Forms support concluded “So apparently the issue is in some part of your WordPress installation or the hosting, not in the form, and affects only to that Contact Us page.”
Can I eliminate some of the JS errors by going into the related theme folder and replacing the code calling for jquery version 1.6.4 with 1.11.1 (which I think is the default jquery version used by WP version 4-0)?
What might be causing the 404 error found by Gravity Forms support? Suggestions to fix?
    Thank you, Lyle Mather

  • Hi Lyle,

I am having similar issue. I am using Gravity forms and Gravity view to create a listings of clients website. When I try to edit an existing entry/post I get 404 error page. The gravity support said that tho sis fault of GoDaddy – some setting on their server is dousing that and GoDaddy wait that this is a problem on the plugin developer side. So….I am nowhere:(…Did you get any solution form anyone…?

    Jana
