Viper video plugin

Hello,

I installed Viper007Bond’s video quick tags plugin last night. I wasn’t able to see any buttons in the html editor, but they are there on the rich text editor page. (From what I’ve read, it seems that most people have the opposite problem.) This isn’t a big deal. I’ve just begun using WordPress’s rich text editor, but my understanding is that it should work just fine.

However, there was some kind of glitch with the video tags. They created only a link on the post — there’s no video. I’ve tried posting videos from both Youtube and Googlevideo. Neither one worked. For Googlevideo, there wasn’t even a link — the “link” to the video (on Googlevideo) showed up as plain text on my post.

I’ve looked at the uploaded folder structure and it perfectly matches what’s on the installation page of Viper007Bond’s website.

I’ve looked at a number of posts in the viper forum, and I couldn’t find anyone having the same problem I’m having. (I’ve posted to their forum a query very similar to the one here.)

I’ve tried uploading the file using both the rich and simple text editors. It didn’t work either way. I’ve tried checking and unchecking the “rich text editor” options for both myself (as the user) and for general posts, and I’ve unchecked the box that allows WordPress to automatically “correct” posted codes.

I’ve also tried a couple of other suggestions — hacking the WordPress code — I found in posts in this support forum, but those didn’t work at all for me.

Any suggestions on how to handle my viper video tag problems? That would be much appreciated.
