Arrow up and down in the backend to sort photos

You can choose one of the following sort ordering methods in the album admin page:

Order #, Name, Random, Rating mean value, Number of votes, Timestamp, EXIF Date, Order # desc, Name desc, Rating mean value desc, Number of votes desc, Timestamp desc, EXIF Date desc.

If you know of (a) usefull addition(s) to this, i would be pleased to implement it.

yes, I know, there are already a lot of possibilities. The thing is that my customer wants to change the order manually, and is used to having arrows (from ponygallery). If you click the “arrow up” for one picture, it will change its place with the picture before it. Etc. That would be a great addition for order #.

I told him that he could first sort the pictures by themes with ids of 100’000, 200’000 etc. (all pictures of one theme get the same number), and then make the finer order within a theme with ids 100’001, 100’002 etc. But that can get pretty awkward.

He also adds pictures, which makes numbering a time bomb. Once he runs out of numbers, he has to re-number hundreds of pictures, since he would like to have the new ones first, except for the older ones that are really great…

Do the following:

Photo Albums -> Album admin
Select the Seq link instead of the Edit link for the album to edit.
Set the sequence order method to Order #.

Drag and drop the photos in the order you want to have, you will no longer need to manually enter sequence numbers, its done automaticly.
