hook for dropdown_categories() (admin-functions)

  • Hi,

    I am trying to limit the amount of categories in the write-post category dropdown menu in a hierarchical way, possibly using Alex King’s Category Overload to achieve this. But I could not find a hook for this particular element – is there none? Is there anything but changing the core files that could be done?

    I am still rather new to WP and I would this truly appreciate any help!

    even if the core files must be changed, how can this be done?

    how can one “chose” what categories to be shown in the write-post category dropdown menu?
