I’m trying to connect to a site via /wp-login/ and after I input my credentials I get an error that says “no data received”. Searching for answers it seems a ton of people get this problem and haven’t found a solution. It doesn’t seem to be a hosting or WP problem but something with my browser(s). I’ve tried on my desktop in Chrome, Firefox, Opera, and IE11- nothing works. I’m ble to connect using chrome on my galaxy s4.

I’ve found out once you login and get the error, if you go back to the home page you’ll still see the admin bar; hover over the “+New” tab and click any link and you should be able to get to the dashboard. Voila, workaround found.

Obviously I don’t want to have to do this every time I login. Does anyone have an idea of how to fix it? The first time I tried logging in my avast free anti-virus flagged the site for a virus, but it hasn’t done it since, and when I contacted the hosting about this problem (didn’t mention to them about my antivirus) they said everything looks fine on their end. I’m working on the site for a client and he provided me with hid creds; they work fine for him but not me.

    Okay, so I fixed it.

After I posted this I restarted my computer and deleted programs I don’t use anymore; I have a feeling it was the restart. Good luck.
