I just got done completely wiping my website( https://www.jungphoto.com ) because of this hack that overtook my website. So I’m now running a clean install of 4.0. I installed my plugins, updated my site ect and had everything working perfect a few days ago.

I go to my website today only to see there are 0 images being displayed, they all have the blue ?. To investigate I go to my media page, everything is blue ? and missing.. I upload a new image to test, it also shows the blue ?, but if i click on that one (being the most recent upload) it enlarges and that photo shows.

The other problem is, when going to certain pages or posts, it can’t find the page and brings me to the 404 for host gator.

I’ve been doing my research, I changed the folder name of the plugins to see if it fixed anything no luck. Changed my theme, no luck pages still redirect. I even deleted / reuploaded the wp-includes and wp-admin directories with no luck…

I’m so frustrated after dealing with constant hackings all last week, reseting and building from scratch and now this. I’m ready to hire a professional if anyone is for hire so this headache can be done and my website functional…

It sounds like when you reloaded your web site you wiped out the /wp-content folder which is where the images are stored.

It worked ok for awhile because your browser had a cache of the images.

Contact Hostgator and see if they have a backup to restore the /wp-content/uploads directory.

If you or Hostgator don’t have a backup, then you’ll need to reload all the images again.

    Thanks Matt,

When we wiped the site, we literally wiped it clean. All the images were all reuploaded new after the site was wiped over sunday. When I logged into my website yesterday and saw that everything is gone, and that some pages redirect to 404, I logged into my admin panel to also find all the plugins uninstalled them selves, and were completely gone (with a notification saying plugin xyz has been disabled or removed ect)

    jjungphotography,
when you renamed the plugins folder, the plugins will get disappeared from the Dashboard.
If you have have done full cleaning, then you can just upload new images and install plugins again.

Regarding Hacking, contact your host to get the logs.

    Thanks Dan,

I haven’t touched the website again but today it seems none of the pages or posts are doing its 404 redirect. (yay) The photos are gone, but the newly uploaded ones are now showing.. For now…

But the site is very sluggish. I remember a while back this plugin/theme I use has a problem with jquery and had to be disabled, but I’m not sure how and I’m guessing this could be the problem again..
