Multisite to Single site Admin Role Issues.

  • Hello, I am having issues with my Admin Roles.

    I have been running a multisite for a few years now. One of the sub sites got to big and I decided to take the task of separating it out to it’s own site.

    I tried to export the sub site and import it to it’s new hosting location but that just messed things up and missed many important parts of the site. So I copied the multisite FTP files and Database and uploaded it to the new site. Which created two identical multisites.

    I then took the steps to change the new site from multisite to single install by turning off “multisite” in Config.php then editing the database. I deleted all unused sub site records and changing the desired sub site wp_8 to wp_, and changed the URL’s.

    Aside from a few hiccups along the way I have managed to complete this migration.

    But now I am noticing that all though I am able to log into my wordpress site as an Admin, I am missing the ability to upload themes, plugins, or even see the users tab. Although I am able to do other Admin things.

    I believe what is happening is that the themes, plugins and user admin options were for SuperAdmins for Multisite Networks. Maybe my site still acts as a Multisite as far as User Roles are concerned when It is in fact a single site now?

    Have I missed something in this migration that completely removes the Multisite aspect?
