    Hi there,

I’ve been trying to do a backup of a site where, unfortunately, the client has given many of the images very long names. These names are then throwing warnings that they can’t be saved correctly because they are too long.

    Fair enough.

So I have excluded all images in the uploads directory from my backup job, but the images are still showing up and throwing warnings. This doesn’t make sense to me. Either 1) exclusion isn’t being taken into account, 2) file names are being considered/processed even though excluded.

    Help?
    thnx!

    Hey Jenny!

That’s an interesting bug, could you post an example of the errors you are seeing.

    Hey Tom,

Sure, I’ve posted a screenshot of the warning here. And you can see my exclusions here (French, sorry :\).

    voilà ! strange, right?

    thnx!

Forgive me, Tom, I clicked too fast (google search) and realize I’m not posting to the right place. Names of plugins can be so similar sometimes!

That said, will take this for a spin – haven’t tried it yet! ??

No worries Jenny, would love to hear if our plugin works for you as I’ve never come across the long filename issue.
