Link Mask Generator – issues with shortcodes

    Hi Jeffrey,
    I am trying to use the Link Mask Generator to mask links placed within the buttons, which I create with a shortcode embedded in my theme. I can see the links in the SEO Settings panel and am able to set a masked URL there. When I enter the generated URL manually in the address bar, it redirects properly, although for some reason when the page is rendered in the browser the original links are shown in the button and there is no sign of masking them. Where should I look for the answer? The shortcode looks like this [button href="https://domain.com/url-to-be-hidden"]Button Text[/button] and the HTML output looks like this <a id="sc_button_1" class="button single-color text-bright size-medium" href="https://domain.com/url-to-be-hidden">Button Text</a>

    Hi:

    There are a few solutions for this. One of the quickest ways is to use a raw link on the page then under the SEO Ultimate SEO Settings Page Level Tab > click Links > then you will see you can use a link mask for any link on the page and just give it a new destination.

    Also, you could add the URL and then use deeplink juggernaut as well to mask the destination URL with the /go/ or any other link alias you choose.

    Not sure the shortcode/button will get picked up from the plugin. But, this is a fallback (or you could always use .htaccess).

    Thanks, in the end I went for the link mask generator in the settings in the sidebar, since actually the tab on the page level was the one that did not work for me. So I created link masks in bulk and then used the ready URLs as raw links in the shortcodes.
