I’m about to start coding a new custom theme. I’ve used CMB1.2 successfully in the past by including it with my theme. Is CMB2 stable enough to start my project with? I now you guys can’t give a concrete answer, but what’s your gut feel? At minimum I just need things to work and to have the same functionality as v1.2.

My only fear is that new bugs have cropped up in the “complete rewrite” that weren’t otherwise there in the older version.

    Thoughts?

    Thanks!!

Sorry for the delay in reply.

I believe WebDevStudios is already using CMB2 in client work, so if we’re trusting of it enough, I think it’s safe for you to as well.

The biggest thing I can recall offhand is a renaming of the hook to attach the metaboxes to. Though there may be some other minor changes. It’s been built to not break backwards compat as much as possible.

Please do report any bugs you find, and we’ll gladly help figure them out as well so that you can keep using it. Otherwise if you stick with 1.x, we understand as well.
