Email 1 2 used to work, now email 2 doesn't since WP4

I’ve got a Registration page which is successfully emailing the form details to specified addresses. In the spring, it was also successfully sending an acknowledgement to the person filling the form (Email 2). Email 2 has stopped working on this form, and the other forms (Join, and Renew) which I have not changed.
No sign of the missing email in my spam filter, though I’ve also tried turning off the filter for both my own domain and the web site domain, no difference.
Recently I upgraded to WordPress 4 and see from other posts that might be the problem? Can I down-grade again? I am using Frontier, and there has never been a problem with conflict until now. I have only found it because I’m preparing the Registration form for the next conference. I have not updated the theme.
