    That file is part of Relevanssi, not your theme search results template.

    If Relevanssi says you don’t have an index, then there’s a problem with your index. Try building the index again.

    I see so it’s the theme search results template. How’s this https://pastebin.com/X0x6gLCf.

    I have again clicked both build and continue building index and it still says “you do not have an index!.” Strangely, when it reloads the page after clicking the build index button, only the page title “Relevanssi Search Options” appears. The rest of the page does not load.

    Thanks for taking the time.

    That sounds like your database is too big index with one go. Keep on clicking “Continue indexing” couple more times, and see if the index can be completed that way.

    If that doesn’t work, you have problems in your Relevanssi installation (database tables are not properly set up, or something like that), in which case I’d recommend deleting Relevanssi and reinstalling it.

    Also, this line in your search results template is disabling Relevanssi:

    query_posts($query_string.'&posts_per_page='.$smof_data['search_results_per_page'].'&paged='.$page_num);

    Remove this line, and Relevanssi should work much better (this is not the correct way to adjust posts_per_page in the first place).

    Tried all of the above and still no luck. Deleted that line from the search.php. Continued to click “continue indexing” but it’s not adding and files to the index and still only loading the title of the page. Also deleted and reinstalled the plugin.

    A bit miffed, here. Now what?

    I don’t know. Is perhaps another plugin interfering with Relevanssi? Try disabling shortcode extension, or disabling other plugins that might be interfering with Relevanssi.

    Based on another forum thread, I tried closing the expand shortcode option, and it worked! Thanks for your support and the great plugin.

    I had the same problem. Revelanssi showed some documents and terms indexed, but told me I did not have an index. When I searched for a term, I had no search results. I unchecked the “Expand shortcodes in post content:” option and then clicked “Build Index”. This time I was told that the index was built and the number of documents and terms indexed increased. I also received search results. Yeah!

    However, I would like to expand shortcode before indexing. Any chance this might be fixed in the next update?

    If you tell me which shortcode is causing the problems, I can add it to the blacklist of problematic shortcodes. Then Relevanssi will skip that shortcode and can expand other shortchodes. But I need to know what the problematic shortcode is.
