Horizontal Sub-menu (dropdown)

Can someone help me with the CSS needed to change the drop-down menu from the primary navigation from vertical to horizontal?

Currently, the vertical list gets cut off at the bottom because I have so many items that are required for my client. If I could get them to float next to each other and be contained within the theme’s 1260px width, that would be perfect.
