Publicize not showing featured image

  • Hello,

    I am having issues with the featured image when published posts to facebook. When I post, it displays it fine in facebook except nothing shows up where the image should be. I have also checked that the dimensions of the picture are the correct size.

    My site is thesuchef.org

    I ran my site through the facebook debugger with this error: og:image could not be downloaded or is too small

    Is this an issue with the theme or one of my plugins?

    Hey, seeing as your featured images are displaying fine on your site I don’t think this would be an issue with the theme. Are you using a plugin to post to facebook?

    Hi Hannah,

    Yes, I am using Jetpack’s Publicize to publish to facebook, twitter, etc. I have also refreshed my connection with facebook with no luck.

    I am also getting this error now:

    Your page has meta tags in the body instead of the head. This may be because your HTML was malformed and they fell lower in the parse tree.
    Please fix this in order for the tags to be usable.

    Any suggestions?

    Do you have any other sharing plugins that could be conflicting?

    Hey suboy7,

    The theme doesn’t add any SEO meta tags to your site (apart from the wordpress defaults). This is part of the www.remarpro.com theme guidelines, you need to install a SEO plugin so that it can assign an image to the social meta tag.

    I recomend using Yoast SEO. Also it usually takes some time for facebook to clear the site cache so you won’t see immediate results.
