• Hi,
I called my hosting company 1and1.co.uk for help increasing the maximum file-upload size. It was a long call (1 hour 18 mins) and after the first 30 mins it became clear I could no longer login to my WordPress site. In fact no one can.

1and1 are looking in to this but I have little faith that they will resolve it quickly and in the meantime I am unable to make any changes to my site including uploading new article.

Can anyone here think of anything that can cause this. I am looking for things to eliminate? What can stop every member including the Administrator from logging in?

I’m wondering if something is wrong with wp-login.php. How could I check and how could I resolve it?

I can still FTP in or access my site’s files via 1and1 Dashboard.

    My website is https://www.whichinvest.com.

    Many thanks

Sorry, I should have added that I don’t get an error message when attempting to login it just does nothing.

Also, I can still look up my website stats on WordPress.com via Jetpack so it is still connected.

Finally, I deleted and then added a php.ini file from and in to my wp-admin folder via ftp as a means to increase my maximum file upload size.

I’m not sure if all of this is relevant but I think it wise to declare it.

My hosting company 1and1 has just admitted that the issue appears to be at their end without specifying what the issue is.

This must be the forth or fifth time I’ve had an issue with 1and1, I need to find a new hosting company.

Sorry to hear about it. I will check first thing next week when I’m back in the office and will ask what was going on.
