• One of our users was having issues will using Firefox trying to publish. His posts would remain unpublished. I have able to publish using Firefox but had always been in the admin. setting.

Today after some digging, I logged in with a contributer account and found there is a save and continue editing and a save button, but no publish button, below the window where posts are made.

When I click on the save button I get a new box with (Are you sure you want to edit this post:””?)

Click either yes or no and you loose what you posted.

What do I need to do to make the publish button appear?

    John

  • Maybe it happens to be that way because it’s a “contributor” account that needs an admin to approve the post and publish it. Try to to set a higher level account.

OK, All of the current users are set to Contributor, with one Administrator (me).
I am not sure if it a Firefox issue or not. The user emailed this morning that he was unable to post using Firefox.

Which of the choices “Editor” “Author” or “Subscriber” should I select for all of the users? I do have the must be logged in to post box checked.

A user must have at least an “Author” account to publish a post.

I have changed all users to Author status. Hope this does the trick.
One would think the default setting would allow posting or at least tell you the meaning of each setting.

    thanks

    The docs do:

    Roles_and_Capabilities

So many things to look for, so little time. sigh

I was able to start a new post while using my non-admin user account with Firefox.

I think I shall mark this one resolved

Oops, I still have issues. I created a second account at our site for testing purposes. I tried to start a new topic, pressed the newly displayed Publish button and get an error message (Are you sure you want to edit this post:””?)

I chose no and my post disappeared.

    Any ideas?
