Certain pages are not displaying and instead going to 404 or homepage

  • We have several pages but for some reason, only those listed as a child under our “Brands” page are acting up. When clicked, the pages link to either a 404 page or the homepage, still displaying the correct urls. The pages have been opened and checked in WordPress and all content is present and accounted for. No settings have been changed in at least a month so nothing significant to have caused this. Any ideas?

  • Can you post a couple of links to the site, providing both a working URL and a URL that 404s? That could make it easier to troubleshoot, or to at least help narrow down the potential causes.

    Well, go to Settings -> Permalinks and reselect your desired format and hit the button.

    The brands page can be found here:
    https://ssdinternationalinc.com/brands/

    Clicking on any of the brands takes you to a page like:
    https://ssdinternationalinc.com/brands/fn-herstal/

    When the second link is visited, it should bring you to a page the talks about FN Herstal and has some videos but instead it just goes back to the homepage, even though it still displays the correct url.

    None of our other pages are acting up; only the ones with “Brands” and the parent page.

    HankHill, I assume that you managed to resolve the issue yourself?

    I clicked through many links on the brands page and each appeared to display the appropriate content.

    I did not see the homepage content displayed on any of the other pages.

    So the last time we had this issue, it somehow fixed itself without any help. Unfortunately, it has repeated the issue and started again. Any ideas? Read the above posts for page links and an explanation.
