Moving wordpress from a subdomain to another subdomain

I have a site on a subdomain. Let’s say it’s x1.domain.com and I want to move it to x2.domain.com.

I backed up/downloaded the SQL database for x1.domain.com and moved the entire wordpress install to x2.domain.com also uploaded the SQL database for x1.domain.com to x2.domain.com also changed all the URLS from x1.domain.com to x2.domain.com by doing a search and replace on the SQL backup.

Needless to say i wasn’t able to get it working properly so I switched everything back and x1.domain.com is working except that I can’t access that site with out logging in. I feel that I am obviously missing a step or doing something wrong.
