How do I add a template different from my theme to a particular page?

Hi,

I work at a nonprofit and we are hoping to have an annual report like charity water did in 2012. I was thinking of creating a new page and changing the template for that page to something that is a single page scroll. Is this possible? Would it bog down our website?
