• Hi!
I have an account on wordpress.com and I have already installed www.remarpro.com and I’m using phpMyAdmin I would like to know what I have to do set my wordpress.com account as a www.remarpro.com

I don’t know if this is making any sense because I’m really new and i don’t get any of this but I really would like to have www.remarpro.com to manage my wordpress.com account.

    Thank you for your patience

  • Hi Claudia

Congratulations on your second WordPress site. Going from WordPress.com to .org can be quite a shift, since you now have much more power when it comes to setting up your site.

The phpMyAdmin is your database access, which you probably shouldn’t use after you have done your initial setup.

Do you have a “yourdomainname.xx” site, and is that site different than your yourdomainname.wordpress.com site ?

The yourdomainname.xx is your downloaded version of WP, from www.remarpro.com.

If you are planing to move your existing site from the yourdomainname.wordpress.com to your new “yourdomainname.xx” you can read a guide on how to do this here:

If this is not the case – please let us know ??

Hi! Thank you for your help!
I have a yourdomainname.wordpress.com site and I don’t think I have a domain in that because I have been using wordpress.com the entire time, until yesterday where I tried to start working with www.remarpro.com

I really don’t know what else I need to do since I want to have full control of my yourdomainname.wordpress.com through www.remarpro.com

I mean, is that even possible?

Ah, so it is the site you have now on yourdomainname.wordpress.com that you want to move to a hostingcompany where you bought a domain name.

In that case, once you’ve successfully installed a new and empty WordPress on your new hosting and thus “yourdomainname.xx”, you can use the guide mentioned above – moving your content from the old site to the new like this:

The content transfer process is similar to that described above (between WordPress.com blogs):

In the old blog, go to Tools → Export and download the XML (WXR) file to your computer.
In the new blog, go to Tools → Import → WordPress and upload the file you downloaded in step 1. Make sure that you choose the option to Download & import file attachments. This option will be available after you upload the file.

This will move your content – but NOT your theme.

I get a blank white page when I try to access:
    https://www.ourplanetrocks.co.za/wp-admin

I have read the blogs, but I still cannot get access. PLEASE HELP. I am getting desperate and don’t understand any of the solutions offered.

I can access the other two sites that I am trying to manage. I am very, very new to this, but feel the Word Press is the most user friendly.
