worfence scanning forever (II)

    I’ve seen this issue marked as solved; but didn’t find what is going on in my site. As posted, Wordfence scans forever when it reaches the ‘Fetching list of known malware files from Wordfence’ line; however, I’m using Apache server, wich is not supposed to be affected by this issue.
    I’ve made a test on host’s available memory, with this result:

    Wordfence Memory benchmarking utility version 5.2.6.
    This utility tests if your WordPress host respects the maximum memory configured
    in their php.ini file, or if they are using other methods to limit your access to memory.

    –Starting test–
    Current maximum memory configured in php.ini: 268435456
    Current memory usage: 24.50M
    Setting max memory to 90M.
    Starting memory benchmark. Seeing an error after this line is not unusual. Read the error carefully
    to determine how much memory your host allows. We have requested 90 megabytes.

    <b>Fatal error</b>: Out of memory (allocated 40894464) (tried to allocate 36 bytes) in <b>/homepages/13/d344884086/htdocs/wp-content/plugins/wordfence/lib/wordfenceClass.php</b> on line <b>2275</b>

    Let’s see if we can help.

    On the options page there is a link at the bottom of the page that says :
    Click to view your system’s configuration in a new window
    On the page that opens, look in the section marked “Core” for “memory_limit” and tell me what that says.

    Done that already, and there’s no ‘Core’ section on that page, nor ‘memory_limit’. :S

    So your page looks like this? The core stuff should start with the php version, like in the images I linked to:

    Ok, haven’t seen it give so little info before. Do you have access to the /etc/php.ini file? Like on your server via ssh?

    Found php.ini in the main directory, via ftp. It includes this:

    memory_limit = 256M
    allow_url_fopen = On
    max_input_time = 1000
    post_max_size = 128M

    Hmmm. I wonder where your error logs got 90M from. Is it set to that on your options page?

    Also, is this shared hosting?

    No, in options I see 256Mb; and I’m the only with administrator access.

    I have ‘all in one seo’ installed, and it has an option to set the memory limit. Checked that also and it is at 256M.

    Update on this:
    I’m trying to update Wordfence, and the updating process doesn’t finish too!
    Something really strange is happening…

    Try removing it via ftp or ssh and then uploading a fresh copy you have downloaded to your local computer. Make sure and don’t check the box next to “Delete Wordfence tables and data on deactivation?” on the options page unless you enjoy re-entering a ton of settings again. ??
