Version 2.1.1 should solve this issue to now display the city name returned by OpenWeatherMap instead of the city name given ??

got the updated version today and now it doesn’t work at all. worked just fine before the update. checked all the boxes and and everything is as it was before the update. tried several listings of sittings, locations ect. ect.. no work.. using creativo 5.04 and never had a problem using this widget!

Hi wwvaughajr, is anything displaying at all? What city/country combinations have you tried? Are you using a translation? Do you get any error messages in the console(F12)?

There is an issue with the weather widget. I am looking to pull information for a city in the US Virgin Islands. It used to work fine, but now I am just getting an error message.

“An error has occured with the ICIT Weather Widget, check your settings to make sure the city you are searching for exists.”

You may want to fix the spelling error on the error message ??

The city is Christiansted on the island of St. Croix in the US Virgin Islands. I went to the city code and could not find the two largest cities on the Island. What is wrong?

Everything has been updated to the latest version of both WordPress and the plugin. Thanks!

    Hi Gizzle,

Thanks for notifying me of the typo, will definitely be fixed in the next version ??

As for the error you are getting, I am having no problems finding Christiansted, Virgin Islands, U.S. have you tried refreshing? The error message is kind of generic at the moment and will display on all problems, including just not being able to find weather for that exact time, this will also be made a bit clearer in the next release, with more error messages to properly explain what is going wrong.

So, if you could try refreshing a couple of times, maybe give it 10 minutes before trying again, and if it still doesn’t work let me know in a new support thread and I’ll look into properly next week.

I have cleared the cache, and looked in a couple of different browsers and to no avail. The website is https://www.chrishanley.com. Please let me know when this is resolved or if you have some suggestions. Thanks!

As I said, I will look properly early next week, but for now the ID for Saint Croix is 4796512 you could try using that to see if it helps at all as ID is sometimes a bit more responsive with OpenWeatherMap that city names.

With the updates to version 2.4.4 this should now be fixed and appears to be working when viewing https://www.chrishanley.com.

Let me know if this problem persists or if you have any others.
