Broken image links

  • Thank you in advance for any help you can give. I Installed multisite per instructions. Created a number of subdomains. Now library is messed up across the network. Uploaded images still work fine on main site. But images are broken and/or not displaying at all in media library in subdomains. The images are also not available to the browser by the expected file path [e.g. https://[my-site]/wp-content/uploads/sites/2/2014/09/110907-232rt21.jpg. Checked forums, made changes to directory paths, etc. in multisite admin screens. I’m lost at this point. BTW: Here is my htaccess file:

    Yup. Update: the expected file paths do work in the browser. Not sure why that didn’t work before. But, in one site I still have the problem of the images being broken or not displaying at all in the media library.

    BTW: I used a “cloner” to create several subdomains. I first created a subdomain that had quite a few images in the library and then cloned it several times. I then deleted the images on the server in all but one clone. But now they don’t show up properly in that clone. They are definitely on the server.

    I uploaded some new images into the other sites and those seem to work properly and are displayed and available to plugins. It’s just that one remaining clone site with the original images, not the main site, that is frustrating me. I suppose I could try downloading and then re-uploading.

    That might work.

    What cloner?

    Also are the images pointing to the RIGHT site folder? I know you say sites/2/ there, but is that for the site on site 2?

    I then deleted the images on the server in all but one clone. But now they don’t show up properly in that clone.

    Uh… This may be why. But It depends on the other two answers.
