Hello, help please! I noticed tonight that my galleries had disappeared [not a valid template] was in their place. I have managed to get them to reappear, but I have a couple of questions about the new galleries:

Is it possible to hide the filename at the top of the basic image browser? My files are named with SEO in mind and are not particularly attractive…

Also, I really liked the old style of gallery where thumbnails appeared below so that people could skip to images. I am assuming this type of gallery doesn’t exist anymore?

@silvereyesphoto – The ImageBrowser displaying the gallery title can be hidden with custom CSS. Specifically for your site:

    div.ngg-imagebrowser > h3 { display: none; } should work.

As to the other display type, you appear to be describing the NextGEN Legacy Carousel template … you should be able to select a NextGEN Basic Thumbnails display then choose the “carousel” template under the Customization panel when you insert the display.

    Thanks!

@photocrati Thank you so much Cais! This has all been a big learning curve for me, setting up this site. I knew there would be a simple fix I just didn’t know where to start. Done.

I do have another question, previously, using the carousel, I could scroll to look at the image and simply click through the thumbnails and the gallery would refresh the image. Now when I click on a thumbnail, the entire page refreshes which means I have to scroll again to see the thumbnails.

It’s not a huge deal, but I personally find it really annoying, and don’t want to annoy potential customers! Short of making my images significantly smaller, which I am reluctant to do, is there a way around this?

    Thanks again.

@silvereyesphoto – Unfortunately that is the nature of that particular NextGEN Legacy template … the only alternative I can think of would be found in our NextGEN Pro (or Plus) updates. The NextGEN Pro Horizontal Filmstrip may handle the display more to your taste … here is an example on our site: https://www.nextgen-gallery.com/pro-filmstrip-gallery/

    Thanks!
