Only some thumbnails crop don't display

@lorraine.Evert – Yes, a link may make a big difference in helping to troubleshoot what you are seeing. You may also need to clear your image cache under Gallery > Other Options > Miscellaneous as well.

Just cleared the nextgen cache,still the same.
This happened after updating NEXTGEN yesterday.

@lorraine.Evert I don’t see any difference between the two thumbnails set. Images are all 200×200 and they are cropped, and in both cases original extended image is visible opening the lightbox.
Maybe in addition to the cleaning of NextGEN image cache you also need to clear your browser’s cache and, if you are running a cache plugin, site’s cache too.

It is not the 200×200 that is wrong. The one gallery displays a closeup of the product, when you click on it it give you the original.

I need the gallery that puts that squashes the whole page into the thumbnail to display the closeup. But something is stopping it.

I’ve fixed the playhouses page now by reloading a brand new gallery. But this is obvioously the long way around.

Look at this. The full image gets squashed into the thumbnail even though it is cropped to display only part of product.

@lorraine.Evert When I read your answer the issue you described was not visible in those first links you posted… I was not saying 200×200 was the problem, I was saying that the thumbnails in those links are both regularly cropped.
Now in this new link the issue you described is visible, and in your page source I see that you have selected the “cropping”.
Does the issue still occur if you disable all other plugins and set a WordPress default theme, after and/or before set a new gallery?

Oh sorry – I think I fixed the link pages before you could see what it looked like before. oops.
It works when I create a completely new gallery. But this is tedious.
luckily i only have 4 galleries doing it – not all of them.
I think I will remedy by recreating the galleries again.

Would just be nice to know what caused it.

@lorraine.Evert Disabling plugins and current theme is the recommended troubleshooting when something “strange” happens, just to know if there’s a theme or a plugin conflict.
However, since you clearly say that recreating the gallery (i.e. probably using new settings) solves the issue, now I would be more inclined to think that you can solve once for all by resetting all the options.
Gallery > Other Options > Reset option.
Give it a try.

Would that not possibly mess with me other gallery settings? I’m so scared to reset and mess up 46 galleries.

@lorraine.Evert As far as I know, reset general options doesn’t affect settings on a per page basis.
In other words, I believe that you’ll have to set up again only once the general menu options “Gallery Settings” and “Other Options”, because reset button brings them back to default.
But I understand your doubts and if you need to feel more confident, wait for Photocrati’s opinion: @cais responds daily to all questions and I think he will answer to this too.

@lorraine.Evert – The Reset Option under Gallery > Other Options will not affect any display inserted via the IGW (“green button”) but it will cause any displayed inserted with a shortcode to use the “default” installation settings that NextGEN Gallery works from.

After the “Reset” you can expect to have to re-modify the default thumbnail sizes you use (they appear to all be at 200×200) and likely the Lightbox Effect under Gallery > Other Options but otherwise it appears most settings if they are not the default may not be immediately necessary to “correct”.
