Thumbnail size
-
Is there a way to set the thumbnail size? I want to list a series of posts and show a thumbnail for the post, but I want the thumbnail fairly small so the list doesn’t have a lot of white space.
The only way I could see to do this now is to use the image-url field and thus set the size of the image in the link construction. This, however, loads the image and not the thumbnail, so it’s a waste of bandwidth. There is no comparative thumbnail-url field.
I’m not really sure where the 150px thumbnail images come from – is that a WordPress feature or is CCS generating the thumbnails?
To be fully optimized of course, it would be nice to load thumbnails exactly the right size and not resize in the HTML, although practically speaking shrinking the appearance of a thumbnail from 150px to 50px probably wouldn’t be a huge hit on performance or file size.
A thumbnail-url field would be a good quick solution if that’s possible. A way to set thumbnail size would be even better, perhaps even adding that file size to the media library so it doesn’t need to be re-generated each time.
