Upgraded to WordPress 4.0 and now my posts are disappearing in TinyMCE

  • I upgraded to WordPRess 4.0 Now whenever I edit a Post it updates find front end, but when I try to edit the post it comes up blank in TinyMCE.
    turning off the Visual editor shows me the correct information (albeit without the WYSIWYG). I have already tried

    • deactivating all the plugins
    • sett ing DEBUG to true – this particular issue does not throw any errors
    • Reinstalling WordPress 4.0
    • Using the twentyThirteen theme

    Nothing works save disabling visual editor – what can I do to patch?
