    Hi

Am using the Proton module of Jetpack to serve images on my site. It works fantasticly, but I cannot tell – or find out from the documentation if its can/is serving retina images when needed.

When I look at an image on a retina screen I can see its added the value scale="2" but am unsure if this is actually serving the retina image or not, the URL says the “normal” sized image.

Any help you can provide to clear up my confusion would be great.

    Thanks!

    Jetpack Mechanic ??

It does indeed serve high-resolution images when possible. Since Photon downloads and caches the original version of each one of your images, it is able to serve any size of that image, including the original size.

So to give you an example, if your theme’s content width is 600px and if you’ve uploaded 1200px-wide images, Photon will serve this wide image for Retina and HiDPI screens.

    I hope this helps.
