Portfolio Type Grid Thumbnails [Virtue Theme]
-
Hello,
I’ve created a portfolio with 4 different types (Paintings, Illustration, etc) and didn’t want the portfolio parent page to be a landing site, so after reading a thread here, I downloaded the plugin ‘page links to’ and set the permalink to #, so that Portfolio parent page wouldn’t be clickable. That’s all groovy, and now the viewer can only click on the 4 portfolio types, as I hoped for… but now I have a new problem: when a viewer clicks on one of the 4 types (lets say Paintings) from the Portfolio parent page drop down menu, they see several featured images of posts. That’s still great. But when they click on one of these featured images to open a specific painting post, they see a small gray box with white grid of thumbnails, symbolizing the entire portfolio. This would be helpful if the grid linked to the Paintings portfolio type, but instead the grid symbol links to the Portfolio parent page that is now a dead link. (So the viewer receives a message that this page has a redirect loop.)
SO, is there any way to simply remove this grid symbol, so they don’t have the option of trying to click on a link going nowhere?
(I’ve read several threads on a similar topic, but nothing that mentions this tidbit.)
If I’m way over my head and this is not possible, is there a way to turn a portfolio type into its own page that I can add to the menu on my home page? (So instead of having a portfolio tab in the menu, I would just have separate tabs/pages for paintings, illustration, etc. ?)
Sorry if this is confusing, I’m new at this. (Obviously, right.)
Thanks for any and all tips!!Here’s the site: https://www.charneyart.com
