Possible to rebuild thumbnails?

Hackers dropped files in my server and I’m trying to fix it all but a lot of images in there are screwed and dont generate thumnails in the manage > uploads part of WP Admin.
I’m using 2.1.1 btw.
https://nostatus.com/?attachment_id=193 for example. In the upload manager I can see the file name but not the thumbnail and in the page it was on, the image is gone ??
On this page the image is linked. the thumbnail is there but if you click on it there is no image (which is weird beause the image is in the uploads folder: https://nostatus.com/wp-content/uploads/2007/02/yahoo-pipes.gif) ??
