I am a self hosted site and set up everything individually. Pretty permalinks was working when I added the multisite to my wp-config.php. I had no plugins activated. Updated to 4.0 and permalinks no longer work. Only when I use default permalink. Changed AllowOveride in httpd.conf to AllowOveride All to all instances. Still did not change the permalink problem.
Also nothing to lose here since this is a new install and no content exists. I can rebuild.

My intention is an Intranet site with the ability to let users have their own blog sites. Mostly private. I don’t necessarily want them to create different themes or change structure of site. Should I ditch the multisite and stay with a basic install of wordpress?

How can I fix current problem, would removing multisite be the fix?

    Thanks.

    Did you try resaving permalinks?

Yes. I tried different permalinks and saved. Same result only the default permalink is working.

Please don’t bump your posts. I know it makes you feel like there’s something happening, btu all that it means is we get to read MORE :/

Changed AllowOveride in httpd.conf to AllowOveride All to all instances.

Try making it AllowOverride Options All

    Also what’s in your .htaccess?

Thanks for the help. I did the AllowOveride All and it did not change. But I blew the website away today. Going to try a different install method. I appreciate your time and I am learning a lot from the posts.
Again thanks for your time and effort.
