Automatic Pingbacks stopped working May 21, 2013

  • I stopped getting them but I thought perhaps I just wasn’t getting any. Then I realized that I couldn’t even pingback my own posts. Is there a way to test or troubleshoot this?

    Odd that it just suddenly stopped.

    Did you put in any form of security plugins or do anything to disable the xmlrpc.php file? Pingbacks rely on that file.

    Not that I am aware of – I have pretty much disabled all plugins except askimet and jetpack. I’ll dig around on that file.

    Been a while – oddly enough, ONE pingback worked – but just one. I can’t even pingback my own posts still – strange!

    Anything I could try resetting or fixing?
