• Hi,

I work with WordPress quite alot, i have updated an existing live site with wordpress 4.0 and all plugins work fine!

However i am building a new site locally with a fresh local install of wordpress 4.0, i am using the same plugins but when i try to add a variety of different plugins it breaks the backend of the website? Is this a bug with running WordPress 4.0 locally or is it my installation?

Deleting the plugin make the backend work.

Plugins that are breaking locally are

    Contact Form 7
    Custom Post Type UI
    Shift Nav

    Any advice?

    Adam

A bit vague, that. Without specific information on what breaks and how, then you’re unlikely to get any useful information from other people.

Find out what plugin causes it, then ask that plugin’s author.

    Hi Samuel,

Thank you for taking the time to share you advice.

By breaks i mean, it displays a blank white page without any errors. As they are established WordPress Plugins that are not working, I wanted to see whether any one else has had issues with WordPress 4.0 locally.

A white screen on a development site tells you that you need to turn on WP_DEBUG or display_errors in order to get the actual error message. Without the message, there’s not a lot that you can do to debug the problem. ??
