  • All of the links you provided send me to a No Results Found page.

In Settings > General What do you have in both these fields?

    WordPress Address (URL)
    Site Address (URL)

    Ron, this –

    https://easybudgetspreadsheet.com/?page_id=2&preview=true

    – is just a temporary preview URL, from you clicking “Preview” on a page. That shouldn’t be used for either WordPress Address or Site Address.

In addition to Janet’s question, what do you have set in the setting under Settings > Reading, at the top, “Front page displays…” ?

    Thanks Janet & Patty:
You are getting the same response as I do: “No Results Found” with the menu bar and logo on top and the usual WP sidebar at right (which confirms I am still logged in).

    WordPress Address URL is: https://easybudgetspreadsheet.com
The Site Address URL is the same.

    Patty:
There is no “Front page displays…” on my Settings > Reading page. The top item is “Blog Pages show at most…”. I am on WP 4.0.

However, under Appearance > Menu the “Home” menu URL is
    http:easybudgetspreadsheet.com/?page_id=2&preview=true
I notice that it is NOT https.
    More info:
If I enter site from https://www.easybudgetspreadsheet.com, it goes to the “No Results Found” page described above (URL: https://easybudgetspreadsheet.com/). Then if you click on “Home” it goes to URL: https://easybudgetspreadsheet.com/?page_id=2
and displays the page properly. The issue is that it should go to this home page directly after entering https://www.easy…

    Ideas???? – Ron

I think you must have overlooked the top section under Settings > Reading. Please look again and tell me whether you have “Front page displays your latest posts” or “Front page displays a static page” selected. If it’s the latter, what static page is selected?

Also, that preview URL doesn’t belong anywhere at all in settings. The menu item for “Home” should be set to the actual home URL of the site, which if I understand you correctly is https://easybudgetspreadsheet.com. You should not be using a URL with “preview” in it for anything at all.

But that Settings > Reading setting may be where the problem and the solution are, so please look again.

Not sure if you received my reply from yesterday. The essence is:
    1. Have removed the “preview” string. No change.
    2. Cannot find “Front page…” anywhere. The top starts “Blog…” and “Front…” is not on the page anywhere. If you send me an email address, I’ll forward a screen shot. I must be looking at the wrong screen.
    3. Have been in Draft mode but after switching to Publish still get “No Results found”. ie. if I enter URL of https://www.easybudgetspreadsheet.com the returned site is https://easybudgetspreadsheet.com/ which should be OK but shows “No Results Found” with just the app menu bar and the sidebar which confirms I am still logged in.
Then when I click on the menu bar for “Home”, it goes to https://easybudgetspreadsheet.com/easybudgetspreadsheet.com/ which still should be correct (based on Post format selection) but displays “No Results Found”. The only way I get to the actual home is by going to WP Pages and selecting Preview.

    Follow up to above reply.
Actually, clicking “Home” appends easybudgetspreadshhet.com to the address bar URL resulting in https://easybudgetspreadsheet.com/easybudgetspreadsheet.com/ – still “No Results Found”. AND if I click “Home” a second time, it appends once more resulting in https://easybudgetspreadsheet.com/easybudgetspreadsheet.com/easybudgetspreadsheet.com. Seems strange??

This is getting to be quite a challenge. But appreciate any help/guidance.

Have you tried contacting your hosting company for help with your url’s?

If you have a live support chat, they may walk you thru the process…. and they have the advantage of seeing your files, database settings, etc.

When you say “I must be looking in the wrong place”, there is only one Settings > Reading screen, so it should be easy to determine that you’re on that screen. So I’ll assume that you were looking in the right place and that your Admin has either been altered purposely by the theme, or is corrupted. You’re missing a major section of that screen which may have a lot to do with the problem with URLs.

The URL you mention and you say is “right” – https://easybudgetspreadsheet.com/easybudgetspreadsheet.com/ is not even a valid URL.

This is beyond what I can help with. Agree with Janet’s suggestion to seek support from your host. And/or you could contact support for the theme you’re using. Finally, you could try asking for help on one of these: https://www.reddit.com/r/Wordpress

    Patty & Janet:
The Front Page… did not appear on the Readings page until I deactivated and then reactivated 2 plugins. Then it appeared and I could switch to “Static Front Page. That solved the problem as you suggested.
    Hooray!

Thanks for putting me on the right track.

I thought that might be it. Glad to hear it!
