Post via email and Update Services not showing

    Hello:

    When I go to the Settings:Writings admin panel I am missing the “Post via Email” and “Update Services” fields. I suspect it may be a plugin that’s interfering but I really don’t want to start disabling all of them. Has anyone else come across this problem?

    Can you access the Users section of your Dashboard? Does it say your user level is Administrator there?

    Ok, try deactivating all plugins. If that resolves the issue, reactivate each one individually until you find the cause.

    If that does not resolve the issue, try switching to the Twenty Fourteen theme to rule-out a theme-specific issue (theme functions can interfere like plugins).

    If neither of those work, what is the URL of the blog with the problem?

    Thanks for the suggestions. I’ll have to set aside some time to do this. I’ll re-post with results when done.

    If I could just get back the Update Services I’d be happy.

    Problem solved.

    I did a little research and per the WordPress codex:

    “By default, editing the Ping Services for a WordPress Multisite network site is disabled.”

    Since I have Multisite enabled, I installed the recommended plugin, Activate Update Services, and now I have the Update Services option.

    Never a dull moment.

    Ah, that is definitely it.
